Considerations & Disclaimer

Outdoor Events in Nature

Being in the outdoors has its own potential hazards, which need to be evaluated for each person based on that person’s circumstances, the individual surroundings and the weather conditions on the day.  Outdoor sessions involve uneven paths, inclines and declines and other trip, slip and fall hazards. Events keep mainly to footpaths however they do go off the path and there maybe mud and water present. Outdoor sessions involve walking. slow movement, stillness, and sitting on the ground (if it is comfortable for you) and standing.

Outdoor sessions are held in public spaces that are open to other members of the public who may walk or be in the same area as the event along with the potential for dogs to be present, both on the lead or off the lead.

If you have any mobility or other concerns over joining a session outdoors please contact the organiser in advance to discuss your suitablilty. It is your decision to evaluate your suitability for the event and by booking to join an event it is on the understanding of the varying nature of being outdoors. By joining an event you recognise the foregoing and you agree to hold us harmless from any liability resulting from partaking in an event.

Drinking Ceremonial Cacao

Cacao is a natural plant medicine from the Amazonian rainforest - it’s chocolate in it’s purest form.  I use a ceremonial grade of Cacao from www.cacaolove.co.uk and the dose that I use depends on the event.

There are a number of benefits to drinking Cacao - it can boost energy, enhance focus, reduce stress levels, help to improve your mood,  create a gentle state of euphoria as well as supporting opening connection to heart.

Drinking Cacao at any event is optional and you do so at your choosing. An alterative drink can be provided by prior arrangement with the organsier, please contact amanda@letsstepin.com.

Below are the considerations to be mindful of before choosing to  drink Ceremonial Cacao at a Let's Step In event:

  • if you are taking anti-depressant medication it is not recommended that you drink Cacao (please check with your doctor first)
  • if you are pregnant or breast-feeding and don't drink Cacao regularly it is not recommend  to drink Cacao due the caffeine stimulant (please check with your doctor first)
  • if you have any heart concerns (Cacao can increase heart rate and lower blood pressure) please check with your doctor first
  •  it contains caffeine (although less than coffee) that can increase the heart rate and some people are sensitive to
  • it contains Theobromine (active ingredient) which some people are allergic or sensitive to
  • it can affect your sleeping  patterns (later in day drinking affects this more)

If you have any questions please contact the organsier, amanda@letsstepin.com and if you have any health concerns over drinking Cacao please check with your doctor or pharmacy.

I recommend that you drink plenty of water the day before and on the day to keep hydrated and to take it slow drinking the cacao in case you don’t like it.

By choosing to drink Cacao at an event you are doing so on the understanding that you are aware of the considerations and are soley responsible for doing so. You recognise the foregoing and you agree to hold us harmless from any liability resulting from partaking in drinking Cacao.
